Members of the GHS were asked to help with this annual event which hosted 30 students from 4 schools, 3 colleges, and 7 placement students from the on-site companies. Six GHS members presented a number of demonstrations and artefacts to groups of the students over two days in the week,
Robin demonstrated Modulation types,
Des and Simon used our Microwave Communications Technology Workbench to explain the Satellite Communications from Goonhilly.
Les connected to and explained internet access to an Amateur Radio satellite and also showed a range of very early Transistors.
Tony & Pat showed a range of historic artefacts saved from the early days of Goonhilly, including Transmitter Valves, Paper Tapes and Ferrite Store memory from the Elliott 803 Computer compared with the older versions of floppy discs, and different types of Waveguide used on site.
